Stan Smith forever!

yes, we were among those 23,7 millions who in 1994 bought a pair of the famous Adidas Stan Smith. Me, personally, being an athlete-avert, I used my only pair throughout all the year of high school, as my only gym/ activity shoes. I frequently polished them with white shoe polish, especially when the leather was completely destroyed in the front and changed the laces once in a while so they can look new again! i loved them... the more worn they looked , the more I adored them!

... and then when I graduated, I dismissed my love for this pair of shoe!

while the whole world continue embrassing it, changing, re-decorating, messing it up, making it more elegant,more quirky and back to basics,  I actually started despising it ! Too white I thought (starting going towards the black-from-top-to-toe phase). Too childish, "come-on-grow up" I thought, when I would see a date showing up wearing them. Too wide, too "what kind of green shade is this anyways", too "non-fashionista"!!

gosh, I was so wrong... this iconic shoe has developed propably as much as I have all these years. It changed color, skin,it grew a fringe, it grew higher, and it went back to completely white, only for a short while, in order to start all over again!

so, what do you think? do the thrillic stan smiths deserve our eternal love??

ένας κλασικός δανέζικος γάμος!

να πώς είναι ένας κλασικός, απλός δανέζικος γάμος στο Δημαρχείο! η νύφη ετοιμάζεται απλά & όμορφα στο σπίτι της. πηγαίνει στο Δημαρχείο, όπου την περιμένουν αγαπημένοι φίλοι, συναντά τον αγαπημένο της, παντρεύονται σε μία λιτή & σύντομη τελετή & μετά... οι νιόπαντροι, οι συγγενείς & οι αγαπημένοι τους φίλοι πηγαίνουν όλοι μαζί για φαγητό! συχνά κάτω από μία λευκή τέντα, όπως ακριβώς αυτή στις φωτογραφίες μας. & μπορεί το φαγητό να ξεκινάει νωρίς το μεσημέρι, το γαμήλιο πάρτυ διαρκεί όμως... πολλές ώρες. συχνά μέχρι τις πρώτες πρωινές!!! ευχαριστούμε θερμά την Amanda Thomsen που μοιράζεται μαζί μας αυτές τις είκονες. πέρα από το site της, δουλειά της μπορείτε να δείτε & εδώ.

{here is a classic example of a simple danish wedding in a city hall! the bride is getting ready nice & quiet at her place. she goes to the city hall, where her closest friends & relatives wait for her. she meets her beloved one, they get married usually in a short & sweet ceremony, after which... newly-weds, their friends & relatives enjoy their lunch together. usually under a white tent, exactly like the one in the photos that follow. the lunch may take place really early in the morning, but the wedding party that follows last... hours. often until next morning!!! we deeply thank Amanda Thomsen who shares with us these beautiful pictures. apart from her site, you could enjoy sample of her work also by pressing here.}

ένας rustic (& όχι μόνο...) γάμος

πώς θα χαρακτηρίζατε το σημερινό μας γάμο? προφανώς rustic! αλλά, πέρα από αυτό? δεν αποπνέει έναν αέρα bohemian chic, alternative & trendy? ένας γάμος γεμάτος χαρακτήρα!!! & φυσικά, όταν φωτογράφος είναι ο Ben Blood, πραγματικά δυσκολεύεσαι να διαλέξεις φωτογραφίες, γιατί όλες είναι μοναδικές!!! δείτε μερικές από αυτές.
